The Defence Force Collaboration Team are looking for an Adult Education Specialist with experience in the development and review of adult education content, and the delivery and facilitation of training. The Adult Education Specialist will work closely with the Defence Collaboration and Education Teams to streamline learnings and practice across the Commission. DUTIES: Contributing to the Commissions work promoting a human-rights based approach to cultural reform: Develop and facilitate adult education and train the trainer modules. Undertake high quality research on best practices and key developments in human rights education, diversity and inclusion, leadership, and cultural reform. Evaluate the effectiveness of adult education training materials, where required, recommend and support changes in order to facilitate cultural reform. Undertake field research using focus groups, consultations and interviews. Prepare and deliver evidence-based reports. Support project planning, and capacity building activities. Develop and manage a range of key stakeholder relationships, particularly within the Australian Defence Forces and Department of Defence. Other duties consistent with the above as directed.  SELECTION CRITERIA: Strong understanding of adult learning and workplace learning methodologies. Demonstrated experience developing adult education content, using various modes of delivery (online, face-to-face, blended etc) and aligning learning outcomes with broader program outcomes and priorities. Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and evaluate adult education initiatives, using evidence-based research. Extensive experience and confidence in facilitating adult education, workplace learning, train the trainer modules, forums and consultations in a variety of contexts. Highly developed relationship management skills, with a capacity to work collaboratively to ensure that various stakeholder interests are recognised and managed positively and professionally. Highly developed written and oral communication skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation confidently and sensitively on matters relevant to the delivery of identified priorities and the terms of reference. Experience monitoring and evaluating education initiatives, including the ability to design and implement monitoring and evaluation plans, is desirable.
