Assist in the preparation of reports to Parliament, including proofreading, checking of references, organising desk topping and tabling in Parliament. Assist lawyers in the conduct of applications under the Freedom of Information Act. Prepare the quarterly/annual reporting statistics. Provide support and assistance as required for the provision of internal legal advice. Provide general administrative services to the Legal Section such as photocopying, filing, database and record management, document preparation and making travel arrangements. SELECTION CRITERIA: Demonstrated legal research and strong analytical skills. Well developed oral and written communication skills. Well developed interpersonal and liaison skills, including the ability to liaise with legal practitioners, litigants and others. Well developed organisational and administrative skills including the abilities to work with minimal supervision, to set priorities and to meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with people from a range of backgrounds and to work effectively within a team environment. Knowledge of and/or work experience in, international human rights law.
