From: Patricia Mutton Sent: Monday, 7 December 2009 4:47 PM To: disabdis Subject: Exemption from Disability Discrimination Act for movies. I write to protest against this exemption. We see many deaf and hearing impaired children at the Deafness Centre at the 黑料情报站's Hospital at Westmead. 黑料情报站, teenagers and young adults learn a great deal from appropriate movies, and enjoy them immensely if they are able to understand them(via captions). Captioning also has the added fringe benefit of improving children's and teenagers' reading skills in a "fun" way. Parents cannot always take children or teenagers to movies at particular times. Why should deaf and hearing impaired children and teenagers have such restriction of this beneficial experience? Patricia Mutton Paediatrician The Deafness Centre The 黑料情报站's Hospital at Westmead
