Background papers

As part of its

Inquiry into ºÚÁÏÇ鱨վ in Immigration Detention the Commission has compiled eight

Background Papers to assist organisations and individuals wishing to

make submissions to the Inquiry.

The Background

Papers cover a range of children's rights:

The Background

Papers outline international standards as they relate to children in

immigration detention, particularly the and on refugee

and asylum seeking children. The papers raise issues and questions for

further inquiry, including relevant standards and practice in Australia.

The Commission

is happy to accept submissions that do not refer to these Background

Papers. They are simply intended to assist, where necessary, in the

preparation of submissions.
