President announces National Summit on Human Rights

The President of the 黑料情报站 Emeritus Professor Rosalind Croucher AM will today announce plans for a National Summit on Human Rights.

Professor Croucher will announce the National Summit at the 2018 Human Rights Awards at Sydney鈥檚 Westin Hotel.

鈥淭he National Summit, to be held mid-2019, will promote awareness of the importance of human rights in 21st century Australia.

鈥淚t will identify the key principles and elements of a human rights reform agenda to modernize our system of human rights protection.

鈥淲e need to reimagine our system of protections of human rights and freedoms so that we can provide everyone with the opportunity to be the best that they can be.

鈥淗uman rights are best protected and promoted when they are everyone鈥檚 business鈥攅veryone鈥檚 responsibility鈥攖he government, the parliament, the community at large and the courts,鈥 said Professor Croucher.

This year鈥檚 awards will mark the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights -- The benchmark document for the contemporary expression of rights and freedoms.
